Volunteering
Volunteering with children in an orphanage is the most rewarding experience for volunteers. Volunteers work alongside the existing staff to care for the children in orphanages. The work in a children’s home involves feeding, dressing and keeping the children active within the homes. Other tasks are to clean and tidy the homes as well as cooking. If you choose to do volunteer work in orphanages, you need to be adaptable, flexible and prepared to face and hear heartbreaking stories of the children’s backgrounds.
Volunteers will also be assisting local staff and caretakers in daily work to help them run the orphanage in a better way. You can also assist in the administrative work of the orphanage . Volunteers normally teach the kids, play with them, prepare their daily records, get involved in preparing their dishes, help in washing their clothes and some administrative work also. They can also attends meeting on behalf of the orphanage.
Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage relies on volunteers from across the world for funding and support. All are encouraged to come, experience Ghana, and interact with the children at Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage in person.

“Volunteering at Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage was an experience that I will never forget. I learnt a lot about myself and made some great friends and really felt that I could make a difference. The children were wonderful and happy, and to help them grow is worth far more than money. On the weekends we went on some great excursions too, Ghana is a beautiful country with a lot to offer.
